Today on the blog, I am talking about a topic that changed my life, and it is my duty to explain and share it with you!. Now, NOT just any kind of acid, Beta-hydroxy acid and alpha hydroxy acid are two chemical exfoliants I alternate everyday in my skin care routine, with no irritation what so ever, just brighter and more even skin! Rewind back to 2013, where YouTube was my resource for all things beauty and reviews on products that determined my decision whether or not to invest in the latest beauty trend or product. I remember one particular site kept popping up in my search results for every product I search on Google; that website was Paula’s Choice, a skincare company based in my hometown Seattle and couldn’t believe this was my first time ever hearing about this brand! I read up on the founder Paula Begun, her brand, and mission to create superior formulated skin care products that are affordable and deliver in an overpromising industry of superficial claims. I spent hours researching the brand and their products especially when I found the Paula’s Choice YouTube channel, an unlimited resource the PC team created to educate their audience and customers with valuable insight on skin care, ingredients, the beauty industry.
Watching these videos, I noticed one item in particular the staff and audience would rave on and on about, ditching abrasive exfoliants for chemical exfoliants with acid that dissolved dead skin gradually and gently. I always thought that exfoliants were necessary to be rough and gritty to circulate blood flow, removing dead and dry skin and rejuvenates the skin. The Paula’s Choice team always made it clear that gentleness is key to maintaining healthy and youthful skin. I was convinced in no time, that I needed to try Paula’s Choice exfoliants STAT, and I couldn’t believe to see my best skin after 2 weeks of using both AHA and BHA exfoliants!
